Between the months of March and May, Beyond The Mic. hosted four community conversations in collaboration with local Hip Hop artists to raise the importance of collective responsibility within individual expression when it comes to building a healthy social infrastructure for all.
Topics included concepts that often aren’t acknowledged in mainstream Hip Hop, such as: Forgiveness, Healing, Love, and Community.

Daughters.
The empowerment that black women & girls experience from having a father figure present is unmatched. We know all about the stereotypes regarding black men not being present fathers, so I figured that it’s time to celebrate the fact that there ARE black men who want to be present for their children and there always have been. Inspired by one of my favorite Nas joints, I want to shine a light from a daughter’s perspective of what I like to call “Father Confidence”—from my Heavenly Father to my earthly father, there’s truly nothing like it.
